The first hours
The couple had already searched by themselves. That is the delicate phase: every manual attempt risks pushing the item deeper and erasing the visual references.
Systematic search
We rebuilt the loss point from landmarks and swept a band of shallow water parallel to the shore, widening it seawards as the tide fell. We use the same procedure for searches in Chioggia, Pellestrina and Lido di Venezia, where the shallow seabed and shifting sand create similar conditions.
The find
The ring came out from under a layer of dark sand, beyond the indicated point. Handed back on the spot.
