Wedding ring lost in the sea at Sottomarina: the 19 July 2021 recovery
Sottomarina has dark, heavy sand and a gently sloping seabed: a ring can sink deeper than elsewhere.
The first hours
The couple had already searched by themselves. That is the delicate phase: every manual attempt risks pushing the item deeper and erasing the visual references.
Systematic search
We rebuilt the loss point from landmarks and swept a band of shallow water parallel to the shore, widening it seawards as the tide fell.
The find
The ring came out from under a layer of dark sand, beyond the indicated point. Handed back on the spot.
