Wedding ring lost on Lignano beach on honeymoon: recovered the same day

First day of the honeymoon, first day on the beach, ring gone in the dry sand. The classic panic scenario — and one of the most solvable.

Newlyweds with their wedding ring recovered on Lignano beach with a metal detector

Dry sand: good news

When a ring is lost in dry sand above the waterline, it usually stays within the first 10-20 cm and does not move. If nobody has raked the area, recovery chances are above 90%.

The search

We marked out the couple's area, roughly 12x8 metres, and swept it in a cross grid: north-south strips first, then east-west, so no spot is missed.

Handing it back

The ring was a few centimetres deep, right under where their towel had been. Smiles, hugs and a photo worth more than any advertising.

Advice for newlyweds

On holiday, fingers shrink in cold water and the ring gets loose. Leave it in the safe or wear it on a chain. And if you lose it, call us before the beach is machine-cleaned the next morning.

On our honeymoon in Lignano I lost my wedding ring on the beach on day one. Gabriele arrived in record time and handed it back.
