A wedding ring is probably the most emotionally loaded item we're asked to find. A quick swim after lunch, sunscreen on the fingers, cold water shrinking the skin — a few seconds and it slips off. The panic that follows is completely understandable. We're here to help, methodically and without judgment.
Every summer we receive dozens of requests to recover wedding rings lost between Lignano Sabbiadoro, Bibione, Grado and Caorle. Most happen on the beach or in shallow water, often during peak hours. The good news: if you contact us right away and the location is precise, the chances of recovery are real.
We use detectors calibrated to sense gold, silver and platinum several centimetres deep, with fine discrimination that filters out false signals.
We know this coast: currents, sand type, tide schedules, deposit points. Every beach behaves differently and our approach adapts to it.
We don't improvise. We delimit the area, scan it in a grid, mark every signal, and verify gently so as not to move the object.
We know this is a hard moment. We treat you calmly, with no sales pressure and no public exposure of the search.
Message us on WhatsApp with your name, place (beach, club, umbrella number if any), and approximate time of loss.
We call or write back to understand: type of ring (yellow, white gold, engravings), circumstances, sand conditions, tide.
If conditions are favourable and the area is accessible, a volunteer arranges to intervene as soon as possible, in agreement with you.

We make no promises: no one can guarantee a recovery. That said, when the search area is clear, elapsed time is short (under 24-48 hours) and conditions are favourable, the chances are real. A ring under a few centimetres of sand in a 4x4 metre area is typically found in reasonable time. On the other hand, a 100 sqm area walked over by many people for days is a serious challenge.
SOS MTD Friuli is a volunteer service of ASD Viandanti Moderni – MTD Friûl. There are no fixed fees. Any expense reimbursement (fuel, travel) is agreed clearly in advance. We do not ask for payment if the item is not found. Donations to the association are welcome but never a condition for the intervention.
We handle every intervention with the utmost discretion. We never publish photos or details without your explicit consent. The stories on this site are shared only when the people involved give us permission.
